Frequently Asked Questions

1. What subjects do you offer tutoring in?

We offer specialised tuition in English and maths that is fully aligned to the National Curriculum which ensures that the support is relevant, structured, and aligned with what your child is learning in school.

2. What year groups do you work with?

We have carefully prepared worksheets for learners from 4 years to 16 years in English and maths.

3. Do you offer in-person or online sessions?

All of our sessions are in person for very good reasons. First, we believe that face-to-face tutoring offers a richer, more personal learning experience, especially when working on confidence, communication, and foundational skills. We are also passionate about the use of pen and paper to complete physical workbooks, rather than the use of tablets and laptops. Paper allows children to stay present and focused on the task in front of them. Research shows that writing by hand helps learners remember information better and longer. It encourages deeper processing compared to typing or clicking, which can be more passive. Building trust and confidence is often easier in person. Many learners feel more comfortable asking questions and speaking openly when they have a tutor right there beside them. This connection helps build self-belief and motivation over time.

4. How much do your tutoring sessions cost?

We offer two packages: standard and enhanced. We also offer block booking discounts and sibling discounts. Contact us for more information or see our page on packages.

5. How long are the sessions and what do they involve?

Each session is 30 minutes and most of our learners complete one hour in total (English and maths). Your child will attend with a mixed age group class as they will be working on their own workbook tailored to their level whilst being supported by tutors in the session. At the start of each session your child will collect their personal folder from the tutor and begin working through their worksheets. These will be collected at the end of the session and homework sheets provided to take away.

6. How do I sign up or schedule a session?

Please contact us to arrange your child’s assessment which allows us to ensure we tailor their workbooks to a suitable level. We can then pick the best start date for your child and complete the booking paperwork.

8. Are your tutors DBS cleared?

Yes! All our tutors are carefully vetted, experienced, and passionate about teaching. Our sessions are written and led by a secondary school teacher with over 10 years of experience.

9. What’s your cancellation policy?

In order to ensure spaces are available for any children on the waiting list we kindly request 1 months notice of cancellation.

10. Do you provide progress updates?

Absolutely! Depending on the package your child is on, feedback will be provided and parents can always send a message to the tutors with specific questions.
